NorMAN Out Of Hours Helpline
The Out of Hours Helpline service is a shared service providing first line IT support to students and staff of participating universities. The service now operates 24hours a day, seven days a week including Bank Holidays. Contact to the service may be made by phone, free phone, email and SMS text.
The NorMAN Out of Hours IT Helpline project started as a year-long project funded by JISC and NorMAN (North-eastern Metropolitan Area Network), to investigate actual and potential demand for an out of hours helpline service. Previous trials of an out of hours service have not proved cost-effective for the relatively low internal demand but the project is establishing the feasibility of providing such a service on a collaborative basis across the region and beyond.
